Participation
The East Bay Panthers seeks
girls who have a passion for basketball, who want challenge
in their athletic endeavors, and who desire to succeed at the sport.
Ideal candidates have a strong commitment to playing basketball
at competitive levels and have the discipline and zeal to train
themselves for that. Fundamental skill development and tactical
game knowledge are emphasized, while promoting teamwork, self-confidence
and physical conditioning.
Participation with the East Bay Panthers will conflict with other
athletic opportunities. However, practices and games are scheduled
to minimize conflict with schoolwork and school-related events.
We do not accept athletes who are unwilling to participate exclusively
with the East Bay Panthers above any other athletic endeavors. Strict
player attendance requirements are enforced.
Player fees supports the organization's needs to purchase insurance
and lease gymnasium space, cover tournament costs, pay administrative
salaries and purchase necessary equipment and supplies. Additionally,
team members purchase uniforms and have the opportunity to purchase
other team-identifying apparel. Expenses for uniforms and travel
are in addition to the participation fee. A scholarship program
is available.
Parents are required to fulfill one team job as well as rotating
game and tournament responsibilities.
