The East Bay Panthers AAU Basketball Club To Hold
Clinics in Pleasanton and Walnut Creek
East Bay Panthers' Pleasanton and Walnut
Creek basketball clinics to emphasize fundamental to help young
female athletes prepare for the Fall/Winter 2005 CYO, school and
recreation leagues.
Lafayette, CA, September 7, 2005 -- The
East Bay Panthers AAU basketball club announced today that they
will hold two public clinics to help young female athletes prepare
for the Fall/Winter 2005 CYO, school and recreation leagues. The
clinics will commence in late September 2005 in the cities of Pleasanton
and Walnut Creek, California.
Each basketball clinic will emphasize fundamental
defense, ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding and team skills.
Attendees will be provided the opportunity to use the skills they
learn in directed scrimmages. Sessions are conducted by David Smith,
Junior Varsity Head Coach at twice state champion Piedmont High
School.
The Walnut Creek clinic runs Friday, September
23rd, September 30th and October 7th from 5-7 PM at the Tice Valley
Community Gym. The Pleasanton clinic runs Sunday,
September 25th, October 2nd and October 9th from
3-5 PM at Pleasanton Middle School. Each clinic is open to
girls in grades 4, 5 and 6. Enrollment is limited to just 16 girls.
The cost per participant is only $75 for six hours of instruction.
Each participant gets a T-shirt. Registration is requested by September

Club
The girls of the East Bay Panthers Basketball
Club have a passion for the game. They want a challenge in their
athletic endeavors and work hard to succeed at the sport. The club
provides qualified girls aged 10 through 14 with professional quality
instruction and competitive game experience in preparation for middle
school, high school and higher-level basketball.
Formed in 2001 as a non-profit charitable
organization, the East Bay Panthers Basketball Club is a member
of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Club teams compete in AAU sanctioned
basketball tournaments in the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada and
beyond during the March through June season.
The East Bay Panthers girl's AAU basketball
teams draw highly skilled players from the Northern California cities
of Alamo, Albany, Antioch, Bay Point, Benicia, Berkeley, Brentwood,
Byron, Clayton, Concord, Crockett, Danville, Danville, Discovery
Bay, Dublin, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Hercules, Knightsen, Lafayette,
Livermore, Martinez, Moraga, Oakland, Oakley, Orinda, Piedmont,
Pinole, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton, Richmond, San Pablo,
San Ramon, Vallejo, Walnut Creek, and other cities east of the San
Francisco bay.
