2006 Competitive Basketball Opportunities Open for East Bay Girls with the East Bay Panthers AAU Basketball Club

The East Bay Panthers Girls’ Basketball Club has scheduled their 2006 team tryout sessions for February 12 and 26 at Bentley Upper School, Lafayette, California.

Lafayette, CA, January 24, 2006 -- The East Bay Panthers AAU Basketball Club for girls announced that team tryouts will take place for their under-11 and under-12 teams on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, 12 to 2 PM at Bentley Upper School. Tryouts for the under-10 and under-13 teams will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, 12 to 2 PM at Bentley Upper School. Training program begins in early March and competitive tournament play begins in early April. The competitive season concludes mid-June.

The East Bay Panthers Basketball Club, a non-profit charitable organization, is a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The club provides qualified girls aged 10 through 13 with professional quality instruction and competitive game experience in preparation for middle school, high school and higher-level basketball.

The East Bay Panthers draw highly skilled players from the Northern California cities of Alamo, Albany, Antioch, Bay Point, Benicia, Berkeley, Brentwood, Byron, Clayton, Concord, Crockett, Danville, Danville, Discovery Bay, Dublin, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Hercules, Knightsen, Lafayette, Livermore, Martinez, Moraga, Oakland, Oakley, Orinda, Piedmont, Pinole, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton, Richmond, San Pablo, San Ramon, Vallejo, Walnut Creek, and other cities east of the San Francisco bay.

“The girls of the East Bay Panthers have a passion for the game,” said David Smith, former club director. “Many of our girls also play CYO basketball, middle school basketball and city league basketball and they thrive on the competitive challenges of the AAU tournaments.”
